Benjamin Ahern Lewis

Benjamin Ahern Lewis was born on July 29, 1985, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Washington, Wis., to Mary Alston Cole and Thomas “Tiger” Musgrave Lewis. On May 2, 2026, Ben’s life came to an unexpected end following a motorcycle accident in Sugar Land, Texas. He was 40 years old. While his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on the lives of those who knew and loved him will endure forever.

Ben grew up in Port Washington, Wis., where he became known for his quick wit, fearless personality and deep loyalty to friends and family. Wrestling found him early, and he threw himself into it with intensity and heart, becoming part of a close-knit team that would go on to win a North Shore Conference championship and compete at the WIAA team state championships.

Ben later attended culinary school in Chicago and developed a lifelong passion for cooking, grilling, storytelling and bringing people together. He became a respected meat-cutter who took pride in his craft and loved sharing his knowledge with coworkers and friends alike.

Ben’s greatest accomplishment in life was the birth of his daughter Chloe. From that moment on, her happiness and well-being became his deepest priority and greatest source of joy and purpose.

Larger than life, humble, hilarious and impossible to ignore, Ben carried a presence that could fill a room. He loved hard, laughed loud and made people feel like family.

Ben is survived by his daughter Mary Chloe Alston Lewis; the mother of his child, Yuliani Tjeng; his mother Mary Alston Cole; his brothers Timothy Cole Lewis and Capt. Jack Flack III; his sisters-in-law Jo Erin Lewis and Rachel Katherine Flack; and many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss him deeply.
