Beach is back to football

University of Wisconsin-Madison offensive tackle Tyler Beach said the Badgers’ win at Michigan last Saturday was a blast.

Playing after a two-week break was one thing, and the dominating 49-11 performance made it all the sweeter.

“It was pretty awesome how we were able to just score at will and move the ball down the field,” Beach said.

 The 2018 Port Washington High School graduate remembers getting beat in Michigan Stadium as a redshirt freshman two years ago.

“Wisconsin historically doesn’t win in ‘The Big House.’ That was a big deal for us,” Beach said.

This time, the Badgers were better prepared than usual. A couple of weeks ago, they were watching film on Nebraska and were told that game was canceled due to Covid-19. They switched to prepping for their next opponent, Purdue, when that game was also called off. Michigan was next on the list.

“We were ready to go,” Beach said.

He said he is glad to get the season on track and get back into a normal routine.

Beach, who lives with teammates Blake Smithback, Logan Bruss, Josh Seltzner and Mike Balistreri, said he isn’t sure how they’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving this year.
