Barbara Carter

Barbara Ann Carter of Saukville, Wis., passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the age of 72.
She was born in Meadville, Penn., on July 22, 1947, the daughter of Charles and Theresa (nee Shelatz) Minetti.
Barbara married Roderick Carter in August 1972.
Barbara had a diverse work history. She owned a successful craft store in Grafton for many years and developed many friendships in the neighborhood as a business owner. In fact, Barb had a great talent of hand-making dolls, cutting and sewing all their clothing and creating a “one of a kind doll” each time she made one. She often gave them as gifts to friends and family. Barb also worked at Tecumsch Products on the production line for many years, and later was involved in the deep tunnel project in Milwaukee.
But her most beloved job, and perhaps her legacy, was caring for children as owner/operator of Carter’s Kids Kampus. She loved teaching and caring for kids of all ages. A few former parents of the children she cared for at the day-care center have reached out to her son Greg to express how much of a loving impression his mother left with the children.
Barb also loved to travel to Arizona, Pennsylvania and Door County with her husband Rod.
Barbara is survived by her mother Theresa Minetti; husband Rod; her son Greg (Maggie Irace) Niemann; stepchildren Jeff (Denise) Carter, Jim (Donna) Carter and Jon (Wendy) Carter; grandson Shawn (Ellen) Niemann; great-grandson Drew Niemann; brothers Bill (Judy) Minetti, Paul (Sherry) Minetti and Jack (Gene Taormina) Minetti; and stepgrandchildren Josh Carter, Spencer Carter, Tyler Carter, Makayla Sanford, Matthew Carter, Jake Carter and Luke Carter. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles Minetti and her son Todd Niemann.
Services will be planned for a future date.
