Bags in Backpacks to end for summer

Family Sharing’s Bags In Backpacks program is ending for the summer season, and pantry officials are urging people who are in need of basic food supplies to call for help.

Bags in Backpacks provides two breakfast and two lunch meals and snacks for schoolchildren to get through the weekends.

Approximately 3,960 of these “backpacks” were provided to 13 schools between September and May of this school year, the equivalent of three tons of food.

Those in need of food aid are asked to contact Family Sharing at (262) 377-0634 to make an appointment to shop in the pantry, pick groceries up in contactless fashion or pick up groceries at one of four mobile locations.

The Bags In Backpacks program will resume in fall.
