Austin Summers Jr.

 

Austin Summers Jr., 89, of Oneida, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021.

He was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Oneida to the late Austin and Margaret (Webster) Summers Sr.

Austin served his country as a member of the U.S. Army  in Korea.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years before going on and working for the State of Wisconsin for 22 years as a prison guard.

He enjoyed fishing and especially feeding the many birds that visited his feeders.

He was a proud member of the Oneida VFW and was an Oneida Hymn Singer.

Austin is survived by his children Cyndee (Richard) Rodgers, Nancy Summers, Wayne (Jackie) Summers, Andrew (Martha) Summers and Betsy (Les) Arnold; three stepchildren, Mary Ellen DiMilo, Michael (Rae) DiMilo and Lois (Mike) Lopez; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wives Donna and Nancie, as well as his siblings Gil, Eddie, Jimmy, Philmon, Etta and Donny.
