August activities for adults set at library

August activities for adults at the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington have been announced.

A grief support will meet 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, in the community room.

The free group is open to anyone experiencing grief.

It is facilitated by Colson Leach, bereavement coordinator with Compassus Hospice.

A career planning workshop will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays.

One-on-one assistance will be provided by Emily Smith, a human resources consultant from Ansay & Associates. She will review resumes, help prepare people for interviews, and aid in conducting job searches and filling out applications.

Walk-ins will be accepted but appointments may be made via phone or email from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursdays.

“Financial Literacy: Fraud Emails” will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 11.

The program is part of a series led by Kirsten Coenen of Kohler Credit Union to educate the public how to recognize the red flags of fraud and avoid it.

Those attending will learn tips and tricks on how to protect their finances and not fall victim to scammers.

The series will be held in the community room on the second Thursday of each month.

The Friday Morning Book Talk Group will meet in the quiet room at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12.

The group sponsored by the Port Washington Senior Center but is intended for adults of all ages.

Copies of each month’s featured book are available for check out at the library.
