Arlene J. Hill

 

Arlene Hill of Port Washington, formerly of Adell, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Lincoln Village, where she was a resident.  She was 85 years old.  

Arlene was born on March 23, 1936, in Lamberton, Minn., the daughter of Emmett Hickey and Bernice Kindler Hickey.  

She graduated from Lamberton High School in 1954.  

On Feb. 18, 1957, she married Wayne Hill in Windham, Minn.  

In 1972, the couple moved to Adell and opened Hill’s Bar and Grill in 1975. Hill’s Bar and Grill provided excellent food and entertainment for 31 years. In 2006, she sold the business and retired.  

Outside of running her business, Arlene enjoyed playing golf, gardening, canning and cooking and was an excellent seamstress.  

She is survived by her four sons, Dave (Lori) Hill of Fredonia, Dwayne (Heidi) Hill of Woodbridge, Va., Jeff (Annie) Hill of Green Bay and Jon (Ann) Hill of New Berlin.  

She is further survived by her daughter-in-law Mary Lou (Dave) Mueller of Port Washington; nine grandchildren,  Andy, Amy, Nicholas, Tyler, Ryan, Eric, Scot, Alexander and Joshua; 10 great-grandchildren, Carson, Sydney, Olivia, George, Isla, Oliver, Leo, Eva, Isaac and Sara; three brothers, Marlin “Monnie” s(Lenora “Ham”) Hickey of Lake Crystal, Minn., Robert Hickey of Mankato, Minn., and James (Terri) Hickey of St. Peter, Minn.; her brother-in-law Vernon (Pat) Hill of Seattle, Wash.; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her son Dale and her granddaughter Ashley.

In accordance with Arlene’s wishes, private family funeral services will be held.  

Arlene’s family wishes to thank the staff at Lincoln Village and Horizon Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
