Annette M. Runge

Annette Marie Runge, 79, of Kiel, passed away on Saturday, June 5, surrounded by her family. 

Annette was born on Aug. 23, 1941, to Robert and Elaine Shoemaker.  

She was a graduate of Milwaukee Custer High School in 1959.  

Annette married the love of her life, Robert Runge, in 1960 and they enjoyed their first year together in Tacoma, Wash.  

In 1968, they moved to Port Washington, where they raised four children. 

Annette’s greatest accomplishment was her unending commitment to her family. Loving and serving her family brought her the utmost joy. Her devotion extended to her church and community, especially in her passion for the youth. 

In 1995, their lifelong dream came true and they moved to their hobby farm in Kiel, where they made many wonderful memories. Annette attended Crossroads Community Church in Sheboygan. Her faith and love for Jesus was the most important facet of her life. 

Annette cherished life! She saw and appreciated the beauty in everything. She loved sunsets, camping at Bond Falls, gardening, baking, the color red, dancing and hosting parties! 

Annette was a beautiful person who touched the lives of many. Kindness and unselfishness were the essence of her personality. Annette was a wonderful mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

Annette is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert; four children, Joy (Dave) Ebeling, Lisa (John) Gilane, Robert (Cari) Runge and Mark (Amy) Runge; 18 grandchildren, Trina, Alyssa, Josh, Dana, Rob, Anna, Rachel, Ben, Nathan, Ryan, Abby, Bethani, Danielle, Madisen, Jessica, Melissa, Sophia and Nicholas; 11 great-grandchildren, Evie, Ira, Paislee, Zeke, Liam, Renee, Mabel, Bellamy, Lucy, baby Niebauer and baby Daehnert; two sisters,  Karen Wollner and Mary Paylor; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ron (Lorry) Runge and Kathleen Evert and her beloved dog, Minnie. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Elaine Shoemaker; sister-in-law Joan Berger; and brothers-in-law Donald Paylor, Art Evert and Roy Wollner. 

A celebration of life service will be held at Crossroads Community Church in Sheboygan on Monday, June 14. 

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the service at 4:30 p.m.  

There will be a light meal and fellowship following the service. A private burial will take place at Ucker Cemetery in St. Nazianz on Tuesday, June 15.
