Albers named to board at Mel’s Charities Inc.

Elizabeth Albers of Cedarburg has been named to the board of directors at Mel’s Charities, Inc.

Albers, festival manager for Festivals of Cedarburg, has a strong background in theater and extensive experience in event planning and management.

“Elizabeth exemplifies the next generation of leaders who will sustain our mission as we continue to expand our reach and increase our impact in Ozaukee County,” board president Dick Phalen said.

Executive Director Tom Stanton added, “Elizabeth brings a fresh perspective and exciting energy to our organization. Since the beginning, we have been all about providing ‘great times for great causes.’ Elizabeth epitomizes that mission.”

Albers said that while in high school she received the Niki Doedens Scholarship, funded by Mel’s Charities, and has followed the organization since that time.

Mel’s Charities’ mission is to support nonprofit organizations in Ozaukee County, with a strong emphasis on special needs, memorial scholarships and human service organizations.
