YOUR PIX: Adult and young owls, both great

“My neighbors and I have been enjoying the presence of at least one adult great horned owl and a young owl,” Annettte Zamora wrote in a note accompanying these photos. “At first we only heard them and more recently we’ve been lucky to see them. They are impressive. The adult in the picture caught its dinner (a bird) in my front yard and then flew off to a perch to enjoy its meal. We feel very fortunate to observe nature quite literally in our yards.”           Photos by Annette Zamora
