Youngsters learn while having fun

Youngsters flocked to the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 hall in Port Washington on Saturday to take part in a variety of activities, everything from face painting to learning about the flag, during Children and Youth Day sponsored by the Legion and its Auxiliary. Representatives of the Port Washington police and fire departments and Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office were on hand, as were a number of the service dogs the Legion has supplied for veterans. Enjoying a coloring exercise were Elowen Mueller, 3, (left) and Kennedy Erdman. Photos by Bill Schanen IV and Sam Arendt
