Winter parking rules resume in the village

The holidays are over, and that includes the break from parking tickets.

Village of Belgium Marshal Leon Anzia issued 24 tickets in December but told the Village Board on Monday “between Christmas and New Year’s I did not push the issue. I figure people got family in town and stuff so I didn’t want to bother people.”

Just like the rest of the holiday season, that has expired.

On Jan. 2, “it started again,” Anzia said.

The ordinance prohibits vehicles from parking on a village street, alley or public right-of-way between 3 and 7 a.m.
