William Flatley

William J. Flatley of Port Washington died Sunday, Aug. 4, at Lincoln Village as sited living facility. He was 79.  

Mr. Flatley was born in Milwaukee on April 13, 1940, to James and Marieta Killian Flatley.

He grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from St. John’s Cathedral High School in 1958.  

After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1964.

On Feb. 23, 1963, he married Kathleen “Kay” Beamer at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wauwatosa.  

Mr. Flately was as a truck driver for many area companies. He was proud that he had a perfect driving record for more than 35 years.

He enjoyed reading and listening to rock and roll, his family said.  

He is survived by his wife Kay of Port Washington; sons Patrick (Patricia) of Las Vegas and Shaun (Sonja) of Corpus Christi, Texas.

He is further survived by grandchildren William, Logan and Christina Flatley.  

Mr. Flately was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael and sister Jane Dugan.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, St. Mary’s Church, in Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside.  

Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the service.  

Interment with military honors will be at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Port Washington.  

Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is handling the arrangements.
