Wessel is new interim worship director
Greg Wessel is the interim worship director at Vineyard Church in Grafton.
Wessel has been the worship leader for Vineyard Milwaukee for seven years, and before that he led the worship service at Vineyard Grafton for 15 years.
“Greg was always a favorite of our congregation, and we are pleased to have
him back,” Lead Pastor Pat Mulcahy said.
A talented singer-songwriter since childhood, Wessel sings and plays guitar in the band Juneautown, which released its debut CD “Serpentine” last year.
His solo work includes original songs with a mixture of folk, pop and rock. He also covers a variety of artists such as John Mayer, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen and Al Green.
Vineyard churches have a history of writing their own songs and have been instrumental in creating the contemporary worship music movement of today. In 1985, Vineyard founding leader John Wimber started Mercy Records, which later became Vineyard Worship.
To this day, experiencing God in worship
is one of the hallmarks of Vineyard churches.
