Wesley Ruppel

Wesley R. Ruppel, 83, of Fredonia died of Parkinson’s disease Thursday, Aug. 29, at LindenGrove assisted living facility in New Berlin.
He was born in Sheboygan to David and Emily Biehl Ruppel on June 1, 1936. He married Judy Jessen on July 3, 1965, in Waukegan, Ill.
Mr. Ruppel graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958.
He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Mr. Ruppel’s family said he spent his life entertaining others, armed with a grin and sarcastic wit. He was active in the community, serving as a youth mentor and pioneering local baseball programs.
Mr. Ruppel is survived by his wife Judy of Fredonia; children Michel (James) DeLisle of Waukesha, Scott of Wyoming, Mike (Keri) of Belgium and David (Shelly) of Greendale; and grandchildren Madisson, Dylan and Colleen DeLisle, Jill and Bryan Ruppel, Nick Smith, and Stephanie, Joshua, Kaila and Matthew Ruppel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Sept. 6, at St. John Lutheran Church in Fredonia with the Rev. Marshal Frisque presiding.
Visitation will be at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the service.
Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials to St. John Lutheran Church are suggested.
