Walking to help veterans

Ready to put on some miles to support veterans (top photo) were Kristina and John Stuhlmacher, their children Jaydon (left) and Belle and dog Bucky, who joined the crowd at the Rose-Harms American Legion Post in Grafton for the 2.5 mile Sweat4Vets walk to the Peter Wollner American Legion Post in Cedarburg on Saturday, May 17. Organizers Carolyn Halvorson (left in the photo below) and Amy Luft of the Rose-Harms American Legion Auxiliary addressed walkers before they set off for Cedarburg under the shadow of a large American flag suspended from the ladder of a fire truck. The annual event dedicated to helping those who served their country raises money for a different cause each year, and this year’s walk benefitted the Wisconsin Veterans Network, which helps at-risk veterans receive benefits and access to programs.                       Photos by Sam Arendt
