Volunteers sought to help clean gravestones

The Bells of St. Mary’s organization is looking for 50 volunteers to help clean gravestones at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake Church from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 17.

Anyone 14 and older may participate.

People are asked to bring safety goggles, plastic or latex gloves, plastic buckets or sprinking cans, brushes with soft to medium bristles and kneeling pads.

People are asked to refrain from bringing hard-bristle and wire brushes, bleach or any household cleaners.

Participants are asked to arrive at 8:45 a.m.

The Bells of St. Mary’s Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the bells of St. Mary’s Church and constructing a bell memorial in the cemetery.
