Virginia Schneider
Mrs. Virginia Schneider of Sunset Road in Port Washington passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 25, 2020, at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon. She was 90 years old.
Virginia was born on May 16, 1930, to Henry and Ruthilda Goeden Jaeger. She was born in Cedarburg and attended local schools.
On Sept. 8, 1962, Virginia was united in marriage with Edwin Schneider at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. The couple lived in West Bend briefly before settling in Port Washington to raise their family.
Mrs. Schneider worked in the cafeteria at Port Washington High School for more than 30 years, retiring in 2000. She loved her job and the challenges of feeding so many wonderful children. Virginia had a passion for cooking, whether for her own family or the kids at the school. She loved hosting family holidays and the loving preparation that went along with it.
More recently, she and Edwin enjoyed going on bus trips with friends, occasionally winning a few dollars at one of the casinos they would stop at.
Edwin preceded her in death in June of this year.
Survivors include her two sons, Thomas (Lanell) Schneider of Manitowoc and Kevin Schneider of Port Washington, brother John (Andrea) Jaeger of Saukville, many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Per Virginia’s wishes, there will be no formal services.
Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
