Village thanks first responders for a very special delivery

The Saukville Village Board on Tuesday recognized the first responders who sprang into action early Nov. 24 — Thanksgiving morning — to help Briana Johnson when she gave birth prematurely at her mother’s home in the village and then rendered aid to her son. Recognized were (front row, from left) EMTs Deana Laabs and Vanessa Marratt, Briana and her mother Dawn Johnson, Ozaukee County sheriff’s deputy Maddie Morgan, (back row) EMT Jason Laabs, paramedic Nick Nemetz, Andy Kordash, Saukville police officer Amani Anjum, who with Dawn Johnson delivered the baby, and Port Washington Police Lt. Ryan Hurda. Briana Johnson (left in photo below) and her mother visited Colt Anjum Johnson, whose middle name recognizes the fact officer Anjum delivered him, in the hospital after his birth.       Photo by Sam Arendt
