Village is picking up Christmas trees on Mondays

The Village is picking up real Christmas trees on Mondays through Jan. 30.

Residents are asked to remove all ornaments, decorations and lights, take the tree from the base and not put it in a bag.

Real trees are to be placed at the curb.

Artificial trees are not to be put at the curb.

In regard to other waste and recycling that often increases during the holidays, cardboard boxes must be broken down and containers must be rinsed out to be recycled. Aluminum cans, plastic water and soda bottles and glass bottles may be recycled.

Items not recyclable include ribbons and bows, tissue paper, packing peanuts, Styrofoam, glossy photos, plastic bags, air pillows and bubble wrap.
