Village to get a jump on holiday with Fun Before the Fourth on June 25

Fredonia’s Fun Before the Fourth festivities this year will feature live music, fun activities and, of course, ample fireworks.

The event will be held at Fireman’s Park, 415 Park Ave., on Saturday, June 25 from 3 p.m. to dusk.

Mr. Tony’s BBQ food truck and a St. John’s Church brat and hamburger fry will supply food. What’s the Scoop Ice Cream will be serving ice cream from 3:30 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

Activities include a bounce house, coin dig, dunk tank and train ride.

Classic rock band MonRo will begin at 5:30 p.m. and play until the fireworks display begins at dusk.

Tentative plans have been made for a baseball game in the park. Details are yet to be determined.

Other summer activities in Fredonia include kayaking on the Milwaukee River on June 24. Kayaks will launch from the Waubedonia Park boat launch from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Community Rivers Program sponsored event.

The Community Rivers Program will also host a family fishing day on July 12 in Waubedonia Park from 5 to 7 p.m.

On July 23, the Village of Fredonia will host a screening of the animated film “Encanto” outside of the Fredonia Government Center at dusk.
