Village establishes facility rental fee

Families or businesses can rent the meeting rooms at the Fredonia Government Center or Fredonia Fire Department for $50 a day while nonprofit groups can rent the halls for free under a new schedule approved by the Village Board last month.
In the past, use of the hall was largely free to residents, although rules appear to have not been established.
Village Administrator Christophe Jenkins was directed on Jan. 5 by trustees to establish a fee schedule and a form to use in reserving the halls.
They approved the fee and form when they met on Jan. 19.
The Fredonia Government Center was built in 2008 and houses offices for both the town and the village of Fredonia.
When the hall was built, the two governments agreed to share revenue and expenses generated by the hall.
Officials also created a commission made up of town and village board members to oversee building operations.
The commission has met irregularly in recent years. No membership for the committee is listed on the village website.
Jenkins, who serves as both village administrator and town clerk, indicated the commission may be revived.
