Village to discuss speeding on Main Street

The Village of Belgium’s Public Safety Committee will take up the issue of speeding on Main Street on Thursday.

Village Clerk Julie Lesar said the issue was brought up by a resident concerned about the pace of traffic on the road.

A speed sign is near the entrance to the village, but Lesar said the speeders the resident is worried about are ones in the middle of the village near the post office.

The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office will be at the meeting to address speeding and answer questions.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. Village Hall.
