Village aims to reward poll workers with a raise

The Village of Grafton is proposing a pay raise for election workers for next year’s elections — the first time the village has adjusted their pay scale since 2018.

According to a survey conducted by the City of Mequon, the Village of Grafton has the lowest pay rate in the county for election workers.

At Monday’s Finance Committee meeting, Village Administrator Jesse Thyes said, “It’s time to be market competitive and to reward the people who dedicate their time to our elections.”

Village Clerk Kaity Olsen agreed.
