Village’s winter parking law takes effect

Belgium Village Marshal Leon Anzia told the Village Board on Monday that unless a big snowstorm hits, he gives out warnings to those violating the village’s winter parking law during the first couple of weeks.

Last year, he issued 93 warnings on the first day and only six the next.

“It takes a little to remind them,” he said.

The law that took effect on Tuesday prohibits vehicles from being parked on a street, alley or public right-of-way between 3 and 7 a.m. through March 31.
