UW-Extension leader earns accolades

Karina Ward has received the 2022 Quality of Teaching award from the Wisconsin Extension Environmental and Community Development Association.

Ward, a University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension Ozaukee County community development educator, received the award for her work on the “Ozaukee County Talks About Race” series.

Ward and Erica Turner, executive director of Bridge the Divide, shared their work on the series last year with the Joint Council of Extension Professionals Conference last year.

“Karina created an impressive series of facilitated group learning events that allowed Ozaukee County residents to learn together in the current moment, Fond du Lac County Extension Community Development Educator Diana Hammer said. “She is leading the way for Extension with her focus on building strong partnerships and creating spaces for hard conversations.”
