Town sets list of roadwork for the year
Town of Belgium Supr. Bill Janeshek last month ran down a list of road projects the town plans to tackle this year.
Three culverts are slated to be replaced, including one on Sauk Trail Road north of Jay Road, one on Six Mile Road south of Highway K and one on Luxembourg Lane.
Paving work includes a cul-de-sac the town created at the end of Country Club Beach Road and a little patch on Lakeview Ridge where two road projects met. Janeshek said he’d like to smooth that section out before doing chip sealing on Upper Lakeview Ridge Road and Lower Lakeview Ridge Road.
The majority of paving will be done on Highway KK south of Highway D, but that will depend on how much money is left in the budget, Janeshek said.
A little ditching is slated to be done on Jay Road between Highway B and Six Mile Road, he said.
The roadwork plan was determined after the town’s annual road inspection, a meeting that was not posted and thus a violation of the Wisconsin Open Meetings Law.
