Town scores $1.8 million in state road funds

The Town of Fredonia was awarded $1.83 million by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation last month to fund the reconstruction of Belgium-Kohler Road.

“After many years of continuing to get creative to keep up with roadwork, this investment in Belgium-Kohler Road is a huge win for our town,” Chairman Lance Leider wrote in a press release.

Fredonia was the only recipient of the Agricultural Roads Improvement Program grant in southeastern Wisconsin.

The grant will fund 90% of the total $2.04 million price tag of the road reconstruction.
