Thanking those who serve and protect

Positively Port Washington, a website dedicated to the good things around the City of Port, recently conducted a fundraiser, using the proceeds to express thanks to the first responders in the community. On Aug. 13, organizers had meals catered for members of the Port Washington Police Department and Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, recognizing the stress law enforcement officials have been under lately. Samuel Melesio (front) of Tello’s Grille, which catered the meal, joined organizers (from left) J.J. Winnemueller and Michelle Hanke as they presented the meal at the Port Washington Police Station to Chief Kevin Hingiss, officers Dan Wolff, Jim Russell, Jason Bergin and Steve Footit and administrative assistant Becki Hill.                                  Photo by Sam Arendt
