Teen substance abuse is topic of Nov. 5 workshop

“Teen Substance Use: E-Cigarettes, Alcohol and Marijuana Demystified” will be the topic for a 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, workshop sponsored by Ozaukee Family Services.

Sammi Schams, a psychotherapist at North Shore Center who specializes in the treatment of adolescents and adults struggling with substance use concerns and stress and mood disorders, will discuss the importance of monitoring adolescents’ and young adults’ substance use.

She will also talk about e-cigarettes, concerns with alcohol and marijuana use, warning signs and protective factors and offer suggestions for parents and caregivers.
