Supporting jail literacy

The annual Keys to Opportunity fundraiser for the Ozaukee County Jail Literacy Program will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Cedarburg Cultural Center, with those attending enjoying appetizers, drinks, music by pianist Gary Haseley, raffles and a silent auction. Showing off a few of the auction items and raffle prizes were (from left) May Albrecht, Kathie Gordon, Holly Ryan, Heather Dvoran, Jonathan Hahm and Grace Eernisse. Tickets to the event are $50 in advance or $60 at the door. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Port Washington State Bank or online at www.ocjlp.org. The Jail Literacy Program has helped more than 1,100 students with educational opportunities, life skills, financial literacy and job preparation.
