Summer farmers market to return to American Legion Post on June 8

After years of being shuffled around the village, it looks like the Saukville farmers market has found a home.

The market will open for the season on Sunday, June 8 — and for the second consecutive year it will be at the Landt-Thiel Legion Post Hall.

The market was originally held on the streets alongside Veterans Memorial Park, but was moved because of challenges caused by traffic in the area.

It was at Peninsula Park for a year, which offered adequate parking but vendors complained that it was too out of the way for shoppers to find.

Last year, the market moved to the Legion Hall, which organizers hoped would be the best of both worlds.

The June 8 kickoff market, and all others, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be free face painting, a brat fry and a variety of items for sale, including coffee from Der Hoffskeller.

Other vendors will be Blue Aster Farm, A Spice Above, Starla Snacks, Sweet Wisteria, Blue Goose Baked Goods, Pat’s Crafts, Rose’s Stuff, Treasureholics/Sunshine Flowers, Skull Dragon Leather Craft, Wisconsin City Mushrooms, Bublitz Produce, KBLs Designs, Buds and Roots, Rainbow Blossom, Robin’s Peak Gardens, Bobby’s Dills, SharperthanNu, Sweet J Lemonade, Butler’s Produce, Fuzzy Butts Dog Bakers, Dusted Angel Woodworking and Hildegard’s Purses.

The farmers market runs every Sunday through Oct. 19, except for July 6.

The Legion Hall is at 601 W. Dekora St.
