Suicide series to screen documentary

The second of a three-part series on suicide will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Port Washington.

The documentary film, “My Ascension,” will be shown.  The film, which is presented to fight suicide, spread hope and reduce the stigma surrounding death by suicide, tells the story of Emma, the day that changed her life and everything that’s happened since.  

Although open to anyone, the free program is especially aimed at students in middle and high schools since suicide is the second leading cause of death among 10 to 21-year-olds.

The church is at 505 W. Grand Ave.
