Sugarin’ season takes off at Riveredge

Maple sugarin’ season got underway last weekend at the Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville as families took to the woods to tap into the trees to collect the sap and process it into the sweet syrup. (Top right) Bailey Leonard set a tap into one of the nature center’s trees. (Bottom right) Dick Dieffenbach hauled a couple of bucket loads back while (above) an unidentified worker poured out the sap to be cooked down into syrup. Photos by Sam Arendt
