Springing from the earth

It looks as if the first housing unit to be built at the Prairie’s Edge subdivision on Port Washington’s southeast side is a lone home in a field near Port’s south bluff, but the construction project is only the first of many planned for the property east of South Wisconsin Street that’s being developed by Black Cap Halcyon. The project is expected to add 49 single-family houses, 20 townhouses and 156 apartments, as well as a 36-unit assisted living and memory care facility and 30,000 square feet of commercial space  to the city in what will be the community’s largest subdivision.
