Softball all-stars to kick off Melapalooza
The Ozaukee Senior Softball League all-stars will again kick off the Melapalooza Softball tournament at Centennial Park in Grafton on Friday, July 19.
The game will start at 6 p.m., followed by an Ozaukee County Special Olympics vs. alumni from the Grafton girls state champion basketball teams. The final game of the night will feature a battle between the Cedarburg and Grafton fire departments.
The Rhythm Method Band will perform as well.
The seniors game will include all-stars 55 and older, matching the Grafton all-stars against the players from the rest of the county. Team Grafton will be looking to avenge a close loss in last year’s match.
Players on Team Ozaukee will be Jeff Dornburg, Buddy Barnes, Brad Dorn, Jon Sperber, John Krejci, Steve Yoder, Mark Reinhardt, Bert Kanack, Richard Haas, Harpo Schroeder, Mark Binversie and Joe Schneider. The coaches are Bob Guse and Randy Kelm.
Representing Team Grafton will be Dave Armstrong, Steve Biedenbender, Dave Smith, Joe Megan, Keith Kassens, Dennis Loberger, Bob Kloehn, Ron Kronforst, Brian Bintzler, Scott Maronde, Bob Sinnen and Rod Wilterdink. The coaches are Rick Port and Randy Kelm.
The event is free. Carry-ins are not allowed. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
