Singer, songwriter to perform March 7 concert

Singer and songwriter Ariane Lydon will perform a Saturday, March 7, concert at Unitarian Church North in Mequon.

The concert, part of the Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series, is set for 7:30 p.m.

Doors to the church at 13800 N. Port Washington Rd. open at 7 p.m.

For the past two decades, Lydon has toured and performed at folk festivals, performing arts centers, radio stations and other events throughout the U.S. and Canada, sharing stages with such performers as John Renbourn, John Gorka, Loreena McKennit, Tom Paxton, John McCutcheon, Chris Proctor, Duck Baker, Harvey Reid, Jean Ritchie and Cherish The Ladies.

Lydon performs on 12 and 6-string guitars, keyboards, Celtic harp and bodhrán. She was born in Sussex, England, and lived in Santiago, Chile, until she was 10. Her mother immersed her in classical piano music from age 7 and her parents introduced her to an extensive range of classical and ethnic music.

Adult tickets are $15 in advance or $19 at the door . Student tickets are $10.

Discounts of $1 per donated food item to a maximum $4 will be given at the door.

Coffee, water, juices,  and snacks will be available for purchase.

Tickets may be purchased at Vines to Cellar in Port Washington and the North Shore Bank branches in Mequon and Grafton.
