Sharon Haas

Sharon M. Haas, of Cedar Grove, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at home. She was 78.

Mrs. Haas was born Dec. 12, 1940, in Aurora, Ill. to Edward and Marion Pezan Savana. She was a 1959 graduate of Pope Pius High School in Milwaukee.

After high school, she worked at From Foods in Thiensville, where she met her future husband, Harold E. Haas. They were  married on Sept. 23, 1961, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Thiensville.

They lived in Mequon early in their marriage, then moved to Grafton and finally to Cedar Grove in 1973.

Mrs. Haas also worked at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington and later at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon as a housekeeper.

Mr. Haas died on March 28, 2006.

Mrs. Haas enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sewing, crocheting, knitting and gardening.

Mrs. Haas is survived by her children Cheryl (Randy) Gasser of Gibbsville; Harold Jr. (Michele) of Cascade, Timothy of Cedar Grove, Christopher of West Bend; grandchildren Kayla Haas, Kelsey (Ryan) Bingham, Tiffany Haas, Brianna Haas, Tyler Haas, Jarret Gasser, Hailee Gasser, Emma Haas; two great-grandchildren; sisters Audrey (Jerry) Pintor of Milwaukee, Joyce Koss of Slinger, Marianne Delaney of Kingston, Tenn.; and step-brother Ralph (Sharon) Pezan of Apple River, Ill.

Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Edward Savana and grandson Joshua Haas.

A private funeral service will be held. Burial will take place at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.

Donations to the American Cancer Society are requested.

Wenig Funeral Home of Oostburg is assisting the family.
