Sharing the meaning of the season

Members of the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 Auxiliary gathered last week to celebrate the holidays and share their good fortune with others. Those present brought food to donate to the Port Washington Food Pantry and contributed to a collection for the Veterans Administration that brought in more than 1,000 pair of winter socks to be distributed to veterans training for outdoor work, those who are homeless and those with diabetes, as well as more than six dozen sweatsuits, several hundred toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste and other personal care items.  Photo by Sam Arendt
