Senior Center members want city to buy former clinic

Members of the Port Senior Center are being asked to attend next week’s Common Council meeting to urge aldermen to look into buying the former Aurora Medical Clinic building on the community’s far west side with an eye toward renovating it as a new senior center.

“I’m trying to rally the troops to help the Common Council understand this is a possibility and it’s a possibility we should look at,” Ann Louise Lorge, a member of the Senior Center board, said.

“I thought maybe it’s time to take a good look at this. If we don’t speak up, nothing’s going to happen.”
