Second places send Ozaukee girls to fourth
Four second places propelled the Ozaukee High School girls’ track and field team to fourth place of nine teams at the Hilbert Invite last Friday.
The Warriors scored 78 points. Manitowoc Lincoln won with 186.
The Warriors’ seconds were: Delanie McFadden, 100-meter dash, 12.85 seconds; Ashlee Mueller, 800, 2:32.62; Kelley Large, 3,200, 12:14.79; and Brynn Meyer, triple jump, 31 feet, 11 inches.
Meyer was fourth in the long jump with 14-1. Ally Clark was fourth in the 1,600 in 6:22.23.
“Even with only 10 girls competing we still put up a bunch of points against some quality Division 3 and even some Division 1 schools,” coach Andrew Pfeuffer said.
The boys scored 45 points for eighth. St. Mary Central won with 111. Manitowoc Lincoln scored 110.5 and Sheboygan North had 109.
Trent Simpson was second in the high jump at 5-10. The 3,200 relay team of Matt Baldwin, Hayden Rice, Calvin McKee and Sam Schubert was second in 8:43.62.
Baldwin was third in the 800 in 2:11.56. The 1,600 relay team of Sam Schubert, Baldwin, Josh Behling and Mason Thill was third in 3:53.84.
Rice was fourth in the 1,600 in 4:53.27 and McKee was fourth in the 3,200 in 11:08.94.
The Warriors were to compete Tuesday in Oostburg and in the Big East Conference meet Monday in Howards Grove.
The Cedar Grove-Belgium girls and boys each took last of eight teams at the VanderPan Invitational last Friday at Sheboygan Falls.
The boys scored 44 points. Plymouth won with 141. Kohler had 139.5
Logan Ketterhagen was second in the 1,600 in 4:48.58 and fourth in the 800 in 2:12.46. Owen Williams was third in the 300 hurdles in 47.11. Nathanael Bruhn was fourth in the 3,200 in 10:59.69.
The girls scored 17 points. Plymouth won with 204.5.
Karen Ibarra was second in the 800 in 2:34.47 and third in the 1,600 in 5:45.26.
The Rockets hosted a quadrangular on Tuesday and compete in the Big East meet on Monday at Howards Grove.
