Scout goes to work to improve the Ozaukee Fairgrounds

The Ozaukee County Fairgrounds in Cedarburg is a little more comfortable thanks to the work of Boy Scout John Chumlea (front right), who during the coronavirus shutdown constructed 10 Leopold benches to be placed throughout the grounds for his Eagle Scout project. The Cedarburg High School student, who is a member of Troop 830, had some help from his father Kevin Chumlea (middle right). Scoutmaster Andrew Risch and his son, Life Scout Austin Risch (left), helped deliver the benches recently. Standing by to accept the donation was Ozaukee County Maintenance Supr. Gerard Behlen (back right). John got the idea for the project while attending Cedarburg’s Maxwell Street Day at the fairgrounds and noticing there was a lack of places to sit. Home Depot in Grafton contributed to the materials for the benches.
