Schmit Bros. auto dealership in Saukville recently donated $5,000 to support the Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA’s Send a Kid to Camp Campaign.
“The YMCA is such a wonderful organization, and we decided we wanted to support its summer camp,” co-owner Mike Schmit said. “A lot of times people can’t afford to send their children there, and we decided to take some action to fill the need as best we could.”
The company’s donation came from a portion of its vehicle sales.
According to Kate Hoffmann, YMCA branch director of donor development, about 40 youngsters will be able to attend the Y summer day camp through the donation.
The camp serves approximately 200 children ages 4 to 12 on 22 acres at the Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA campus in Saukville.
