Saying thanks to pandemic front-line workers
Mel’s Charities, Wayne’s Drive-In and Ansay and Associate’s Cedarburg office joined forces last week to thank the staff at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg for its work during the coronavirus pandemic. Clockwise from top: Tom “Mel” Stanton of Mel’s Charities gave a verbal thank you to staff members as they dropped off 100 hamburger and cheeseburger lunches. Participating in the effort were (front row, from left) Stanton and staff members of Wayne’s Drive-In, including Mary Champeny, Cale Goeman, Rhaea Morgan, Steve Michalica, (back row) Nicole Chiarello, Krystal Colburn, Ryan Commons and Jen Gelinskey. Delivering boxes of food were Stanton, Commons and Goeman. “It was just a little thank you and an effort to bring some much-needed joy to the staff,” Stanton said. “This is an effort that just screams community. We’re just getting started.” Mel’s is working with other area restaurants to provide lunches to front-line workers at senior living facilities, hospitals and clinics in the coming weeks.
