Saying farewell to a Port landmark

St. John XXIII School is preparing to close its St. Mary’s School campus at the end of this school year, prompting the parish to hold an open house Sunday, April 28, for former students, teachers and the general public to take a last look around the longtime school. Betty Russell Bostwick (far right) showed off a vintage photo of a group of students, including herself. Nuns who taught at the school and attended the open house included (above) Sister Linda Marie, Sister Mary Faith, Sister Margie Ann and Sister Rose Andre. Former teacher Gailya Geib and Jean Wildhagen looked over a volume of class photos (right).                                                                                         Photos by Sam Arendt
