Save the date: E-cycle day will be held on May 18

The once-annual e-cycle day that has been switched to even years only will be held on May 18.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Belgium Recycling Center, 1215 Jay Rd.

Town Supr. Tom Bichler said a new company is running the event, Com2 of Illinois.

It accepts all TVs and Freon products, along with dehumidifiers, iron, batteries, hearing aids, refrigerators and other appliances, he said.

“We had 36,000 pounds of TVs two years ago so I’m kind of curious how this year turns out,” Bichler said.

There is no charge for televisions.
