Saukville Saints end year with a bang

The Saukville Saints didn’t win many games this season, but they ended the year with a demolition of a rival on the road.
The Saints beat the Cedarburg Mercs, 14-3, on the road behind strong pitching, defense and hitting.
Pitcher Aaron Brockman scattered six hits and two walks while striking out four in going all seven innings. He took a shutout into the seventh inning before the Mercs managed to get on the board.
The Saints’ offense racked up 15 hits in plating two runs in the second and putting up crooked numbers in the fourth, fifth and sixth frames.
Max Pruefer, Nate Lukas and Mike Sherrick each had three hits. Lukas had five RBI and Sherrick had three. Both players clocked a triple.
On Aug. 1, the Saints lost to the Thiensville-Mequon Twins, 9-0.
Pitcher Justin Knodel held the Saints to three hits while striking out 16.
Bryce Thomas had two home runs and Luke Scheuerlein had three hits.
The Saints finished the season with a 3-15 record.
