Saukville’s patriotic salute to veterans

Patriotism was on full display in Saukville during the community’s annual Memorial Day ceremonies Monday, May 31. Members of the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post color guard stepped proudly along the parade route (bottom left photo). Below, among the others taking the spotlight during the procession was a trailer that transported veterans, including (front row, from left) Joe Tippy, Jesse Lovell, (middle row) Don Race Jr., Tim Lewein, (back row) Don Schanen and Augie Cervantes. Cub Scouts Wyatt Olson and Will Dahmen of Pack 3868 handled flag-bearing duties in the parade (top right photo). Taking the speaker’s podium during a program at Veterans Memorial Park were (from left, bottom right photo) Legion Post Cmdr. Denise Jamrozy and Legion Chaplain Darlene Garay. Photos by Sam Arendt
