The Ryder Cup is coming
The 39th annual Ozaukee County Golf Tournament is going to have a special element this year.
The Ryder Cup trophy will be on display at Mee-Kwon Park Golf Course from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 3, according to Evan Hewes, head golf pro for Ozaukee County Golf Courses.
The Ryder Cup is a men’s golf competition held every two years with a team from the United States taking on Europe. The European team won the 2018 trophy in France.
In 2020, the Ryder Cup will be held at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan County.
This year’s county tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 3 and 4, at Hawthorne Hills and Mee-Kwon Park.
The cost is $55 per player in the men’s and women’s divisions and $45 per player in the senior division.
Entry includes 36 holes of golf, awards and a buffet on Sunday, Aug. 4.
Registration forms are available in the golf shops at either golf course or online at www.ozaukeecountygolf.com.
