Roger Schneider

PAID OBITUARY

Roger W. Schneider passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019.  He was 87 years old.
Roger was born on Dec. 9, 1931, to William and Hildegard (nee Oberbrunner) Schneider.
How do you put into words the spirit, soul and gifts of my beloved brother Roger? He was enormously witty and almost always the main attraction at any gathering, party, etc.
“If I didn’t like him so much I would have been resentful, but he was just plain delightful right to the end of his life,” said his sister Patricia.
Roger attended St. Elizabeth grade school on the east side of Milwaukee, Marquette University High School, then St. Francis Seminary, subsequently becoming an ordained priest in 1959. Roger was the parish priest at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wauwatosa, then at St. Aloysius for three years.
Roger later left the priesthood and married Mary O’Sullivan in 1972.
Roger obtained a master’s degree in psychotherapy and was employed with Aurora Clinic for many years, retiring in 2010.
Roger is survived by his sister Patricia Courtney; nephews Timothy (Stacy) Courtney and William Schneider; niece Tricia Schneider; great-nephews Samuel, Calvin and Connor Courtney; and dear friend Kerry Young.
Roger was preceded in death by his brother Richard (Dolores) Schneider.
A celebration of Roger’s life will take place on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 7 p.m. at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg 53012.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the service at 7 p.m.
Online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
